Join UCLM’s Fight for Social Justice
THe MEMBERSHIP Experience
UCLM members are comprised of people of all ages, races, religions and walks of life. Religious leaders, community leaders, white allies and even those new to the cause are united by their passion and willingness to work for racial and social justice.
We divide our work into various ministries, each focused on specific goals. Members are encouraged to participate in the ones that energize them. Our ongoing ministries are:
MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
The second Saturday of every month is when we hold our membership meetings. Most members attend these meetings, not only because we ask them to, but also because we bring in interesting guests, with expertise, programs or organizations related to the work we do.
In the past, we’ve expanded our horizons with talks and presentations from:
Joseph Morelle – US Congressman
Samra Brouk and Jeremy Cooney – NY State Senators
Mohini Sharma – Lead Organizer for Metro Justice
Stephen Boily – RPD Sergeant discussing RPD’s hiring and interview process
Alice Carli – NY State Health Legislation Advocate
Judge William Taylor – Administrative Judge of the 7th Judicial District NY Courts
… and many more.
Financial Commitment
Monthly dues for individual members are $20 and $25 for clergy.
Dr. Martin Luther King said, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
We all know that justice is needed. As a completely volunteer organization—small budget, big impact—we'll get there faster with your help. To join us, reach out and someone from our team will get back to you.
