What We Want

  • We want our people to assume their full standing in this society by recognizing the need to transform their lives and community by embracing Jesus as Savior and Lord and to engage in the struggle for social, and economic justice, civil and human rights.

  • We want an end to gun violence and homicides.

  • We want an end to racial profiling, Stop and Frisk, excessive force and  the taking of black lives by the police.

  • We want sensible gun control laws and a ban on assault weapons.

  • We want a single payer universal health care insurance for all.

  • We want jobs with decent liveable wages and affordable health care.

  • We want an end to income inequality.

  • We want a quality education for our children.  An education to prepare people of color for jobs and careers commensurate with the technology of the 21st century.

  • We want parents to assume responsibility as the prime motivators in their children’s lives; to teach spiritual and moral values, nonviolent behavior, respect for others and to be the encouraging and moving force in every aspect of their children’s education.  Parents must hold themselves, their children, teachers and the educational system accountable.

  • We want an end to the school to prison pipeline.

  • We want people of color to support black owned businesses and to pool the necessary resources, and acquire capital to become entrepreneurs.

  • We want a decent quality of life for all who are in poverty.

  • We want an end to the mass incarceration of people of color.  Nonviolent crimes should not result in harsh prison sentences.  By the same token, individuals should avoid any contact with the Criminal Justice System by making responsible choices.

  • We want reform in the unjust Criminal Justice System.

  • We want everyone to have the opportunity to pursue a college education without paying an exorbitant tuition and incurring debt for the rest of their lives.  We believe a free college education should be provided by federal and state governments.

  • We want decent and affordable housing for all. We also call for the imposition of rent controls and a renter’s bill of rights.

  • We want equal justice before the law which does not mete out injustice and harsh sentencing based on skin color.

  • We want justice, economic justice, freedom, dignity and equality NOW.

  • We want a revolution of spiritual and moral values where we respect each other’s rights and treat everyone with mutual respect and uphold the sacredness of life.

  • We want our children to live fruitful long years and enjoy successful lives.
