UCLM Executive Board

Though our work is grounded in the black experience, our leadership team is a diverse group composed of wonderful people dedicated to civil rights, human rights, and social justice.

Dr. Dwight Fowler, President

Dr. Dwight Fowler became UCLM’s president in January 2023. He expresses his vision for his role in theological terms. “To pursue the Beloved Community as a drum major for justice.” This perspective is a derivative of his lifelong motto: “Find the need and meet it.” Of course, this is all in the context of UCLM’s long-standing focus areas of criminal justice reform, community-police relations, gun violence prevention, and advocacy. Since its founding, Dr. Fowler has been a part of UCLM. His uncompromising support of Reverend Lewis Stewart as he defined UCLM’s role in the community was pivotal to the group’s existence.

Dr. Fowler also works for the Rochester City School District as the Director of Parent and Community involvement.  He is the permanent Senior Pastor at the First Church of God where he developed several new ministries including the Youth Choir, Revived Women’s Ministry, Prison Ministry, and Soul Winning Ministry.
